To Darwin & Back July/August 2007

We have been looking forward to this trip for about 15mths. I have been to a lot of the places at the age of 17.(the year that Cyclone Tracy hit Darwin).Owen hasn't been to any of them. I am sure that I won't remember too much as I there will have been lots of changes.
We will be travelling with our friends Rick and Yvonnne. Yvonne has seen the sites in her teenage years also but not Rick.
Our rig is a 1997 Red Ford F150 and a Jayco Heritage Poptop Caravan approx 18'11.
Our friends drive a 5 yo Grey Landrover Discovery and tow a Jayco Freedom Poptop van approx 17ft.
Our departure date is July 2nd.

June 4th 2007

Well, I haven't done much on this site since last year and we have been away several times.
We went to Bright for the cup weekend and came home via the Alpine way down to Bairnsdale and home.

End of November: Had another 4 day weekend with the Ford F100 club for our Christmas breakup at Bendigo's Gold Nugget C/P. Good turnout.

Took another break without the van in Jan 2007 to get some miles up on the leased ute. We went to Adelaide. It was very hot but good.

Late January went to Kiama on the NSW coast down from Woollongong and then acrosss to Junee for a couple of nights.

Early March went to the inaugural Victorian chapter of the Australian Caravan Club weekend away to Bendigo again and the same Caravan Park. Nice to meet some new people with like minded ideas and thoughts re caravanning.

Didn't have time off for Easter but got away for 4 day weekend to Castlemaine in early May. Good to get into the van again as it would be the last time until we go on our 6 week journey to Darwin & back. As of today it is only 4 weeks till we go and we are starting to get itchy feet now.
Just had the last of our children's (Stewart)21st birthday party and 10days before we leave our daughter & her husband will move into their own home so still lots happening to keep us occupied.

Well that brings us up to the present
Next entry to Darwin & back.
