We have arrived and have started touring
Well we have arrived but haven't had the time or inclination to write to the blog till now.
We had a good flight, long but broken up with a fuel stop at Singapore for 90mins and then off at Dubai for 3hours. All 3 legs of the flight were quite smooth but we were very happy to get off at Gatwick, London. Owen went through the UK line and I went through the other one and then found out we could have gone through together. We headed off to customs and went through a door and that was it. No customs people that we even saw. Bit of a let down really as I was expecting very different.
In Aus, Owen went off at the security gate because he forgot to take out his phone, but at Singapore and Dubai it was me who beeped. I got frised at Singapore and at Dubai I was taken into a cubicle to have the machine run over me. I wonder now if it was the wire in my bra.
Anyway after finally finding out where to go to get our car and heading off we got to our destination easily and it was as the picture showed but of course that wasn't where our room was. We were in another building to the side but at this stage we didn't care.
We had a shower and went to bed at 3.30 for a nap. Ha! We woke up at 10.45. Then nodded off again until about 5am. Both of us had swollen feet, but not too bad. We went for a walk and then headed off for breakfast. We were very ready for it by then.

Practising
It is now Friday evening 22nd May and we leave Monday 25th. Our flight is 6.10pm and we have to be at the airport 3 hours before.
I am going to unpack my suitcase and re pack it to make sure I have all I need or some I don't need. We are able to take 30kg each but between the two of us the suitcases only weight 34kg. So room to be able to bring home extra in an extra bag maybe! :0) (haven't mentioned that one to Owen yet).
We are babysitting our "Macka" tonight so will go now and the next posting should be from England. Our first two nights are at http://www.deverevenues.co.uk/find-venue/hartsfield-manor.html . We wanted to stay somewhere nice for our first couple of nights.

Visit to the Motherland – Britain May-July 2009
16th May 2009
Well it is getting closer, only 9 days to go. We have picked up the tickets and information we need, made contact with the 3 cousins Owen has in England, bought a Great Britain Heritage Pass and now just have to pack the suitcases. And get the ironing, cleaning etc done before we leave. Plenty to keep us occupied for the next 9 days.
25th April 2009
It is 4 weeks today until we leave and I have lots I want to do before that. Can’t believe how quickly it is going but we have had lots happening.
We have booked our first two nights at Hartford Manor about 20mins drive from Gatwick Airport and we have booked our last 6 nights in London. We have also booked a car for 3 weeks and then we will wing it from then. We might hire another car or use trains, buses ets.
So now we just have to organise the packing of our cases to see how much to take and how much they will weigh.
So now I had better get off and go and do something.

Eyre Peninsula Holiday April 2008
well we have made it to the Eyre Peninsula. Currently sitting in our van at Port Lincoln, SA.
It has been good so far. I have uploaded some photos to picasa but I don't know why they can't be viewed from this site. Shall try to fix it.
The weather is lovely. Perfect for sightseeing but not really beach weather, which doesn't bother us. People have been very friendly. Met a few from close to home.
Going to go to a farm for a couple of nights as they have powered sites. Something different, as was feeding tuna and watching others swimming with them.
Certainly some big boats here and certainly lots of money tied up in them but then again at over $700 per tuna well I think they recoup their money. Problem is they all go over to Japan.
