Can’t believe I have got up to date. Not that I have given lots of news. Today we had a leisurely breakfast and chat with our hostess, Margaret. We set off around 10 to head for Bristol.
We got there in a roundabout way and eventually found the SS Great Britain. It was the first iron ship to be propeller driven. It was risen from the depths and restored and it must have taken quite some work to get it to where it is today. The hull is in pretty bad shape and it is covered and kept at a certain temperature (humid and warm) to protect it from going further. It was well done.
We had some lunch and tried to find Brunel’s suspension bridge and ended up down the coast a bit and eventually went back to the farm.
After our long day yesterday we wanted a fairly relaxed day so we didn’t try to see too much.
